Dunchurch Community Event

Small lakes' intricate shore lines framed by white pines charm the King's Highway 124 drive through Whitestone Municipality to Dunchurch. Here at the Dun-Dome Recreation Centre at the end of Church Street on White Stone Lake, renovations complete and for one afternoon, ice and floor hockey, basketball and roller blading will make room for music and refreshments. Admission, courtesy of this beautiful area's kind hearted businesses and citizens, is free. Though acoustics will be fine to excellent, bring a folding chair to make this a full featured fine arts centre. Also bring some coin too; admission is free but the Lion's Club barbeque and other refreshments will cost a bit. We encourage you to bring courage as well. Why courage? Here, during those thirty minute learning sessions between sets, you could learn to play steel pan. That's true. If you are a musician or even if you are afraid you'll never be a musician, this is an unbelievable opportunity to dive into music's deep end with your own personal highly qualified lifeguard to make your first immersion into "pan" a very fulfilling one. The instructors with their own rich personal experience gained from years of performance have also helped middle-school students learn and perform a song in one class period.
